The Lenz couple- were they pulled over because their Striper series was too cool?

Wendy Lenz and her husband have owned two other pontoons before upgrading to their triple tube Angler Qwest 824 Striper model and have found great happiness from their purchase.

“I did a lot of research about the toons,” Lenz said.  “I Love the lifting strakes, bigger toons, and you can drain or add air.  I looked at every model.  Watched a hundred videos.  We drew up a picture of what we wanted.  When we went to the boat show, it was like omg, this is the boat.”

Lenz and her husband Joe loves fishing, partying and relaxing on their boat but people might be surprised how well a boat that big would handle.

“We can turn the boat around on a dime with our trolling motor upfront when we’re fishing for perch, walleye, bass and muskie,” she said.  “The comfort and handling at high speed really surprised us too.”

The couple loves many of the features but a few things do stick out.

“The rod holder up top looks so impressive, with all Joe’s rods on it,” she said.  “We don’t have any kids, but we have taken a lot of friend’s kids out.  The boat has so much seating, the covered Bimini for me upfront, for anyone who wants out of the sun, you have the back seats.  The boat handles so well in rough water and it has the speed when the weather is bad, to get home fast.”

Their home waters of Lake St. Clair and the St. Clair river are perfect for an Angler Qwest life with lots of species to fish and lots of water to cruise- and there’s no question people gawk at their rig.

“We love it so ,much,” Lenz said.  “The smooth ride, fast, comfortable seating, center console, rod holders, shade, everyone looks when we go bye. When we first got it, we were pulled over three times, once by the Sheriff, Coast Guard, and the DNR.  We know they just wanted to see the boat!”
