Two businesses ran out of one Angler Qwest!

Lake Martin, in Dadeville, Alabama, is known for legendary striped bass, and generous catches of crappie, catfish, and largemouth, but it’s also known for one of the more diehard guides in the area and his unique tritoon boat that gets anglers to fish and tourists to adventures.

Captain Randy Cound had run just about every boat imaginable; from center consoles to big deep V’s, but just last year switched to an Angler Qwest 824 Striper and has been almost as amazed with the boat as his clients are.

“I run two businesses from this boat,” he said.  “I was never really a pontoon boat type of guy, but this has been a great change and addition to my guiding.”

Cound was about to purchase a new boat about a year ago and at the last minute the deal fell through.  A good friend of his told him about Angler Qwest and they happened to find one that was fully loaded on FACEBOOK Marketplace.

“It had every option you could imagine and a new 300 HP Suzuki,” he said.  “I added some Canon downriggers, and it ended up being the perfect boat.”

Cound said that the area has a lot of VRBO rentals so it made for the perfect cruising boat for tourists because of the great comfort and huge capacity.

“For my fishing end of things, it was awesome,” he said.  “While the layout is great for several anglers on a striper trip, I also have two seats up front for anglers to spider rig for crappies.  The boat is just super versatile.  I really would love to be an ambassador for the brand some day because I can’t see ever switching.  It’s just the perfect boat for me.  I may get a larger version someday but it will be another Angler Qwest for sure.”
